Bame began his investment career in 1998 and has continued to build his knowledge and track record since then. Bame has completed investments in the United States, Europe, China, and Africa. Bame's investments encompass a range of sectors including financial services, consumer, industrial, education, food, logistics, manufacturing, energy, healthcare, fintech, real estate, and technology.
Bame has sat on the boards of numerous portfolio companies and specialises in partnering with management teams in implementing specific, high-impact value creation plans.
Prior to founding Africa Lighthouse Capital in 2012, Bame spent six years working at Actis Capital, the largest emerging markets-focused alternative investment firm. While at Actis, Bame was based in Johannesburg, but worked extensively throughout Africa, particularly in Nigeria and Egypt. He has also worked in Kenya and Ghana. Bame previously worked at Shoreview Capital, Goldman Sachs, Credit Suisse and Citigroup – all in the United States. He has bachelor’s degrees in Economics and Political Science from Pomona College in California and an MBA from Harvard Business School in Massachusetts.
